Where We Haul in the Wiregrass
Dothan and Houston County are home base. Ozark, Enterprise, Headland, Daleville and Ashford are part of the normal route, along with the county roads in between.
One Truck, a Region Worth of Addresses

The Wiregrass is not one town. It is Dothan in the middle, four highways running out of it, and a spread of smaller towns and county addresses that all have the same problem in different shapes. A garage in a new subdivision fills differently than a barn on forty acres, and a rental that turns over twice a year is nothing like a house somebody has lived in since 1962. We run out of Dothan and cover Houston County plus the towns below. If your address sits on a county road between two of them, that is normal here and still in range.

- Independent local haulers across the region
- Small loads paired with another stop on the run
- Rural drives, gates and long carries are normal
Your request goes to an independent local hauler, who contacts you with a quote. Junk Pickup Dothan does not do the hauling itself.
Ozark
Ozark sits straight up US 231 from Dothan, which makes it one of the easier runs we make. It is the Dale County seat and the town on the north side of the post gate, so it cycles households through faster than a town its size normally would. Orders come in, a report date gets set, and everything in the house has to be sorted, sold or gone before that date arrives. What did not fit in the truck and did not sell in the driveway is what we come get.
The other half of the work there has nothing to do with the Army. Ozark has older homes in and around town that have been in the same family a long time, with attics, carports and back rooms that have been quietly filling for decades. See junk removal in Ozark.
Enterprise
Enterprise is west on US 84 in Coffee County, and the work there is shaped by how the town has grown. A lot of the newer housing comes with a two car garage, a pull down attic and a shed out back, and no basement at all. The garage fills in a few years, the shed fills after that, and the overflow ends up in a rented storage unit somebody keeps paying for long after they stopped opening it.
So Enterprise jobs are heavy on garage clearouts, storage unit clearouts and downsizing, plus the households arriving and leaving on the west side of the post with boxes that never got unpacked from the last move. See junk removal in Enterprise.
Headland
Headland is a short run north on US 431 into Henry County, and hauling there is usually about time rather than volume. The older homes around the square have been lived in for generations, and houses like that come with attics, deep closets, detached garages and a shed or two out back. Nothing in them was ever really thrown away. It just got moved further from the door.
Outside town, Henry County properties add outbuildings to the picture: a barn with a loft, a couple of storage buildings, a shed nobody has opened in years. Long gravel driveways are the norm and they get soft after a wet week, which matters more than the size of the pile. See junk removal in Headland.
Daleville
Daleville sits between Ozark and Enterprise, right next to the main gate, and it runs on rentals. Apartments, duplexes and single family houses there see a new tenant far more often than the Wiregrass average, because training cycles are short and orders move people. A lease that started in the spring can be over before the fall.
That produces a steady rhythm of move outs, and move outs leave things behind. Nobody ships a worn couch to the next duty station. What stays becomes the owner’s problem the day the keys come back, usually with a showing date already on the calendar. Several units in the same complex can normally be cleared on one trip. See junk removal in Daleville.
Ashford
Ashford is east of Dothan on US 84, out toward the Georgia line, and it is country work. The lots get bigger, the houses get further apart, and room itself is the reason things pile up. In town a broken mower goes because there is nowhere to put it. On a few acres in east Houston County it goes behind the shed, and ten years later there is a row of them.
Loads out there run to shed and outbuilding contents, scrap metal, old tin and roofing panels, loose fencing, appliances that have sat behind a building for years, and brush piled at the edge of a field. Access matters more than pile size, so photograph it from where a truck could park. See junk removal in Ashford.
What Is Actually Different About Hauling Here
Four things shape most of the work in this region, and they are not the same four you would find in a bigger metro.
Debris arrives all at once
Southeast Alabama does not produce yard debris steadily. A severe line comes through in spring and half the yards between Dothan and Enterprise have limbs down by evening. Storms that come ashore on the Florida Panhandle do not always weaken before they reach Houston and Dale counties, so an inland town can wake up to the same mess a coastal one gets. It happens to everybody at once, municipal brush collection backs up, and a pile that would normally be gone in a week sits at the curb for a month.
Rural property is its own kind of job
A lot of addresses here are on acreage with outbuildings, and the building being emptied is frequently not the one nearest the road. Gates, gravel and long drives are normal. What decides the day is whether the ground holds weight after rain and whether a loaded truck can turn around. Where the approach is soft the crew works from firm ground and carries, because nobody wants ruts through a field as part of the deal.
Households turn over on somebody else’s schedule
The Army aviation post next to Daleville and Enterprise drives a lot of the movement in Dale and Coffee counties. It carried the name Fort Novosel for a couple of years and went back to Fort Rucker in 2025, so you will still see both. What matters for hauling is the rhythm. Weight allowances make some furniture not worth shipping, a sectional that fit the last house will not fit the next one, and appliances bought for a rental have nowhere to go. Most of it sits in a garage until the last week.
The housing stock is old, and it was built before sectionals
Plenty of houses around Dothan and the smaller towns are older than the people living in them. That means pull down attic stairs that were never meant for a dresser, narrow hallways, stair turns a queen box spring cannot round, doorways sized before oversized furniture existed, and detached garages that became storage a generation ago. It is why getting an item out of the room is usually the real work, not the drive to the landfill.
Travel and Scheduling Across the Region
Everything runs out of Dothan, and the geography is simple. Ozark is north on US 231. Enterprise is west on US 84 and Ashford is east on the same highway. Headland is north on US 431. Daleville sits between Ozark and Enterprise. None of those is a long trip, which is why same week pickups are realistic across the whole area rather than just in town.
Small loads out of the outlying towns are usually paired with another stop on the same run. That is worth knowing if you have one recliner in Headland or a single mattress in Daleville, because a stop that would be awkward on its own is easy when a truck is already headed that way. If you are working against a closing date, a move out inspection or a storage contract ending, put the date in your request.
You do not have to be on site for the whole job. Someone needs to give us access and we need a written agreement on what goes and what stays. For rural addresses, tell us how the drive runs, whether a gate is wide enough and how far the pile sits from a place a truck can park.
Service Area Questions
My address is not in any of those towns. Do you still come?
Usually yes. A lot of Houston, Dale, Henry and Coffee county addresses sit on county roads between the towns listed here, and that is normal for the Wiregrass. Send the address with your request and we will tell you straight away.
Is there an extra charge for the smaller towns?
Distance is a factor in any hauling job, but the main drivers are still how much space the load takes in the truck and how hard it is to get to. Small loads from the outlying towns are often paired with another stop on the same run, which keeps the trip practical.
How soon can you get to Ozark or Enterprise?
Same week pickups are normal across the region. If you have a fixed deadline such as a closing or a move out inspection, include the date and we will work backward from it.
Can you clear a property if I have already left the area?
Yes, as long as someone can give us access and we have agreed in writing on what goes and what stays. Photos and a written list of anything that stays are the two things that make it go smoothly.
Do you take storm debris after a big weather event?
Yes, limbs, brush, fence panels and downed shrubs. After a wide event the whole region needs the same thing at once and municipal collection backs up, so getting on the schedule early matters more than usual.
What We Haul and How to Start
Every town above gets the same work: furniture, appliances, garage and estate cleanouts, yard and storm debris, and one visit instead of a container sitting in the driveway. The services page covers all five and explains how a price is put together.
To get a number, use the quote form above or the contact page. Send your address, one photo of the pile and a note about access.
